A while back I made a video all about why I studied Nutrition in college and what I could do with the degree. There was an influx of questions I received all about what my job as a Nutritionist entailed and what the focus of nutrition was. I worked for the New York State Department of Health WIC Program , which is a federal nutrition program created to help bring healthy foods and promote a healthy lifestyle to individuals who are at nutritional risk.
“The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides Federal grants to States for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.”
In the video below, I go into detail about the WIC program and what I did as a Nutritionist. It was a great opportunity and making this video made me miss my coworkers and participants so much! It was such an amazing experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life!
